In 2006 a travelling band of Minus artists, touring and hanging out together on the road, started to bounce ideas off each other, and this EP is the first installment in a sometime series of collectible EP's designed to document these spontaneous, unpredictable and potentially explosive collaborations.
First up we have Heartthrob vs. Troy Pierce. The 'tin can alley' snare and 'ooh yeah yeahs' maintain their place in the mix alongside a fresh accented bass riff and a flowing 4x4 beat pattern. The BPM count has alos been cranked up a notch or two, coaxing the original vibe out from its shadowy after-hour origins onto the main floor for some serious peaktime action. If you ever wondered what Prince would sound like if he had grown up in Detroit instead of Minneapolis, then look no further than 'Nasty Girl' on the flip. Gaiser and Heartthrob have come up with a dirt, twisted dancefloor burner that will shake the life out of many an unsuspecting PA system. The dark underground beats are peppered with trademark Gaiser percussion fills and digital wildlife effects that perfectly complement Heartthrob's freaky 'nasty girl' rap, a dark, sensuous, distorted vocal hook that just rides along on the groove. A flying start for the MVS series!
