The mysterious Dr. Lektroluv this time comes live from Rock Werchter. This four day Belgian festival has been in existance since 1974 and recently received the Arthur Award for best festival in the world for the third time during the International Live Music Conference. This year they had people like the Beastie Boys, Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Air, LCD Soundsystem, !!! and Klaxons on their line-up.
Dr. Lektroluv was the only DJ on this year's Rock Werchter line-up, closing the second stage right after the Beastie Boys! He smashed the place into pieces with one of his famously tight electro house sets, and what better way to celebrate this by recording his set for all of us to hear! Following on from the 'Live At Extrema Outdoor 2006' mix comes a new slice of electro fun with tracks from Tiga, Mason, LFO, The Subs, this year's out of nowhere chart toppers The Klaxons and Feist giving it a current indie/electro crossover feel. Once again we get a selection that pitches today's current players with some brilliant old school classics.
The good Doctor certainly knows how to rock the crowd as you can hear them screaming for more when he lays down some brand new electro cuts from today's finest electronic craftsmen. We have Spektrum, who's "Kinda New" track was a killer and has just been updated by Dirty South, also listen out for Claude Vonstroke's re-working of The Mighty Dub Katz "Magic Carpet Ride", which is sure to be a floor filler.
Fusing angular rhythms, sleazy vocals, old and new, he provides yet another vibrant selection for electro lovers everywhere.
