“The empty foxhole” is the first mix cd of Stefan Goldmann, who has released from classic, ovum, minus and perlon. After his biggest track “Sleepy Hollow”, which was released on Innervisions in 2006, he became one of the leading artists in the minimal techno/house scene.
The opening of this mix cd is a new Stefan Goldmann track which will be included to the new single on mule electronic. The second track of this release is the new single by no other than Mathew Jonson “Symphony For The Apocalypse”. “Kaos”, the third track of “The empty foxhole” is a techn house classic by Stephan-G & The Persuader, which brings out the more psychedelic side of Stefan Goldmann’s album, together with tracks 4 and 6 by Ricardo Villalobos and Minilogue.
Using his old alias “Nail”, Goldmann presents another one of his own classic tracks “(I Don’t Wanna) Hurt U” which comes right before “Hypokondriak” by Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman - the grand master on minimal.
Another new track by Stefan Goldmann “Wolverine”, will be included with his new single on mule electronic. “Sakadat” by Petre Inspirescu, the 12th track on the album, is a trippy minimal tune. One real deep house track comes next, this time by Carsten Jost, co-ownner of Hamburg based label “dial”. A real minimal classic on Kompakt by the hottest minimalist Jens Zimmermann is “Tranquilitté”, which is the 14th track of “The empty foxhole”.
Dennis Ferrer, the popular deep house artists lets us listen to a vocal emotional tune on “I Can’t Go Under”, before Francesco Tristano, the piano player who plays the cover song on techno classics like “Strings of life” plays “The Melody” right before track #17, a tune by Tuomi who gets produced by Stefan Goldmann and closes down the mix album with one of his beautiful songs: “Mourning Eyes”.
