While the globalisation seems to make our world smaller and smaller day-by-day, the deep spirit and cultural traditions of each country remains. Every country has its own intellect of music and often that intellect builds the connection between people. This is particularly true for the traditional music, but still maintains validity for modern club culture. Musicians and DJs blend sound-fragments and styles from all over the world into their music and mixes, while a certain vibe to their work still draws from their own heritage. That.s why it is so exciting to have ambassadors representing the culture of their homelands, guiding us on a journey into the very heart of their identity.
After the great success of the first two „les ambassadeurs“ albums compiled by Bruno from Ibiza, Spain (former Café del Mar resident) and BiggaBush, England (co-founder of Rockers Hi-Fi) in cooperation with Raphaël Marionneau, abstrait music now presents the third album in the series. The french origin founder of the label abstrait music and the legendary chillout club „le café abstrait“ in Hamburg aligns with Bliss. The danish artists DJ Steffen Aaskoven and classically trained Marc-George Andersen take the listeners on an outstanding trip from denmark right into the centre of the couch culture.
„The third edition of „les ambassadeurs" should take the listeners to a whole new journey. I was eager to find a partner who would fade away the hustle and bustle in our days“, Raphaël recalls. The right protagonist he finally found in Bliss, whose compositions he used on many albums since the very beginning of „le café abstrait“. Bliss were delighted to become a part of „les ambassadeurs“ and contribute with their assortment of ballads, vocals and classical songs a new course for the album. Although influenced by different cultural aspects the distinctive sound of Raphaël Marionneau and Bliss build a
perfect symbiosis and the artists still are autarkic.
„Bliss are well-known artists worldwide and are famous for their mixture of sensitive vocals combined with western, african and classical influences. Their first album "afterlife" become a reference in the chillout community shortly after its release and the second album was also a big success. Its a great honor to win Bliss over for „les ambassadeurs“." Says Raphaël. Bliss just conquered the world of film music and released a symphonic soundtrack for a danish TV show named „They made history“. The influences of this work are noticeable in their music selection for „les ambassadeurs“. Although the album is a combination of two mixes, two messages from two countries, from artists, that didn.t hear the other ones part, everything is melting together in harmony. „We have tracks on this album from turkish, french, english, italian, german and scandinavian artists from different origins. In the end there is a homogen sound. An audio diplomacy, a whole new soundscape", tells Raphaël.
Now sit back, close your eyes, and join “les ambassadeurs” within their dialogue on international audio diplomacy.
