Jean F. Cochois aka The Timewriter engrossed in music since his early boarding school days, is one of the most outstanding house music producers Germany has to offer. Making an amazing debut with his 1996 album "Letters From The Jester" which followed up a successful 12" called "Did My Time", he managed to thrill the music media and a wowed audience right from the start with his unique production style that manages to fuse the virtues of house with the energy of techno, something that would later be categorized as techouse. Transcending limits and boundaries with a flawless, timeless elegance, it would be very hard to pigeonhole and label The Timewriter who now has four albums and a string of successful single releases on such acclaimed labels as Plastic City, Mole Listening Pearls, Elektrolux, Wave Music, Driftwood and Fiji as well as remixes for Kraftwerk ex-member Wolfgang Fluer aka Yamo, Mike Oldfield, Yello, Faithless and Boy George under his belt.

Imprint Plastic City is offering the sophisticated lovers of deep vector house a ReRelease of The Timewriter's second album "Jigsaw Pieces" including a new bonus track, originally released to an acclaimed audience in 1998: A dazzling collection of "real 21st century soul music, avoid of clichés, overflowing with magic", as the UK based "Muzik magazine" put it, that oozes profound feelings of spirited deepness and boundless beauty.

With "Jigsaw Pieces", Jean F. Cochois a.k.a. The Timewriter who has been making music from an early age, masterfully explores compositional elements like rhythm, melody, tempo, instrumentation, texture, and contrast which show his expert skills and profound knowledge of music, and craftily, joyfully interwoven, pieces them together into one big picture which he paints with his favourite colours. Deep, wide, spacious, sensual, luscious, melancholic and at the same time uplifting, this album easily becomes an all-time favourite due to its honesty and serenity.

Whether enjoyed separately or as a seamless progression, flying without gravity through the moods expressed, "Jigsaw Pieces" never loses its touch. The tracks, ranging from deep, spatial house ("Almost Lost") to deep thumping, mid tempo tech-house ("Sunset Walkin'") to sensually textural and skillfully crafted instrumentals that combine elements of acid house mixed with epic eclecticism ("Deliver Me"), move effortlessly through time and space, unveiling poetic landscapes that complement every state of being.

Melting together the different subgenres of house - deep, progressive, soulful and uplifting -, the energy of techno, moments of classical music and elements of ambient, The Timewriter steers clear from classifiable standards, approaching music in an open-minded and personal yet universal way. Melodic and meaningful, his songs are filled with a non-dogmatic, heartfelt spirituality - a definite "feeling": Accessible and uplifting, the 16 tracks of the CD captivate from start to finish, relaxing and at the same time stimulating mind, body and soul, satisfying dancers and home listeners alike.
