Frankfurt based DJ & producer Oliver Lieb was born in 1969. Since 1988 he is involved in the production of electronic music. No matter if it‘s Techno, House, Electro or just „electronic music“, within 17 years and the release of more than 200 singles including remixes for Faithless, Moby, Snap, Yello, Human League, Mory Kante, Utah Saints (to name just a few) Oliver made it into the premier league of international Producers. He always keeps surprising and amazing people with his extraordinary sounds and diversity. At the age of 14 he started playing bass in several Funk/Soul/Jazz bands. Oliver also got in touch with electronic music (Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk,Yello, Jean-Michel Jarre) and discovered a new and an endless horizon of expressing himself. In late 1989 Oliver’s first record was released by Dorian Gray resident DJ Torsten Fenslau on his Abfahrt label. In the years to follow Oliver released everything in the electronic genres from downtempo and chill-out to hard experimental techno and trance. Oliver Lieb aka Spicelab was also one of the first electronic musicians to be mentioned in the Harthouse history. His first single was released in 1992, he remixed tracks as e.g. Sven Väth’s “An Accident in Paradise” which was one of Väth’s first successful releases and amongst countless pseudonyms as Ambush, L.S.G., Mindspace, O.L., Radical Impression, S.O.L., Smoked, Snakemen or Solieb, he got really famous as Spicelab. Back on Harthouse the story continues. Once again he shows his talent and experience in the techno and acid area and announces his own revival with “Re:Break” and “Re:Start”.
