Vol Fulgur is typical of Rich Jones’ sound. Intense and full of energy, the track works up a heavy sweat via a punchy linear groove made up of sharp percussion and undulating bass before falling away into a sparse breakdown.
Demon keeps up the pace of the EP with a stripped back late-night groove that combines the rawness of a hard kick drum with the mesmerizing qualities of multi-layered melodies. A tense and fearsome track for the wee small hours.
Persied takes things in a deeper, tribal-flavored house direction with tom-toms’s patting out a sultry rhythm that works to draw you in before the wonky stabs and blissful drawn-out chords get to work twisting out the vibe to make a tense finish.
