Piemont had a furious premiere at Gedankensport. The Nightshift EP caused huge waves of response. Frederic Möring-Sack and Christian de Jonquieres already had an excellent reputation as solo artists the last years but as Piemont they brought up an extraordinary standard of minimal techno. They run their own labels Suchtreflex, Hammarskjold and Fingerfoodmusic. Their music is suitable for peak time as well as for after hours and listening comfort. Their debut gained great public interest and soon top artists supported as Thomas Schumacher, Oliver Huntemann, Oliver Koletzki, Monika Kruse, Deep Dish and Umek supported the tracks. Heavy rotation accelerated by their next act of greatness at Gedankensport and now we are proud to announce the follow-up which is another wonderful milestone of minimalism!
A1: „Ignition Spark“ Fabulous beat structure with intelligent vocal cuts. Dark minimal bass and synth lead to funky chords. The percussion creates a magnificent drive. The guys who always search for the perfect groove…reinvent it again and again. This one is a dancefloor – accelerator – anytime!
B1: „High Melting”.
After a pretty dry and clear beginning Piemont provides more and more tiny differences to flow in step by step. Shakers and typical short vocal sounds rise up between the clicks and together with a lovely melodic part all sums up to a dreamy but still technoid and forward track. Huge!
B2: “The Last Straw”
Tricky track with funny effects, vast reverberations, big chords. You find many different sources mixed together in a very sophisticated way.
Light distorted effects and clicky sounds create a hypnotic B-side which grows to a minimal hymn!
