Exclusive favourite Mr Mauro Picotto is spoiling us right now. Having only just got over being exposed to the super strength of his and Riccardo Ferri's 'Happily', with its bumper remix package. Now its time for our next installment from MP and his Alchemy label. He's done it again too. Delivered something different. The original Meganite mix of 'Diamond' has a touch of the Blackwater's about it. A big main room engine drives the orchestral-like synths along, managing to tread the path of delicate and funky yet monstrously powerful.
Picotto has also kept up his reputation for fantastic mix packages by drafting in yet more super talent on single. First up is the UK techno don Mark Broom. The question must surely be, does this man ever sleep? Here he brings us two takes on the original. The first, the 'Glide' mix, see's Broom matching wonderful industrial sounds, a huge rolling, yet incredibly funky bass line, and smooth house vocal sample. A bit of balearic techno for your wallets!
On his 'Stonk' mix, the gloves are well and truly off. No niceties here ladies and gents. Its full on, in your face, relentless stuff, right from the off. A slightly acidic riff injects a groove into proceedings and the 'Stonk' doesn't let up for the duration. Truly, heavy material!
After the pasting of the previous remix, Hugo and Papini's remix steps off the gas and winds things down a touch. The pair turn out and fantastic, bouncy, groove-laden workout. A brilliant remix for all of the house guys out there.
So Picotto delivers us another fantastic release, and we've got a whole summers worth, still to look forward to!
