Finally! What sounds an outcry of liberation is actually a statement of accomplishment. Jean Claude Ades, the French-German Munich-Ibiza based ueber hit producer and DJ who has marked the last decade with his impressive output, has finally (sic!) crafted his master piece: the first ever JCA artist album.
Aptly dubbed Finally!, it’s long been due, but Jean Claude, always very aware of himself and the world that surrounds him, felt hesitant to put out something that would not fully reflect him as an artist: as versatile, musical and talented as he is, he’s melting the stylistic barriers of electronic music, combines his take on electro techno progressive trance with the exuberance of joy and the vocal bliss of House with the pure spirit of world music, and creates his own vision of what timeless club music should sound like. Releasing very select tunes that almost always catapult him straight into the charts, it was only consequent to wait with his debut album until the right moment. It has come. Finally! After a string of highly successful mix albums released on his imprint Swings, it seemed only logical to finally go a step further and compile an entire album.
Marking the beginning of a new episode in Jean Claude Ades’ life and the end of another, Finally! has it all: the exuberance of celebration, the glamour of sophistication, and the masterful vision of timelessness. “Relief,” explains Jean Claude, who, child of an artist, grew up in Italy, “is what I feel now that the album is completed. I can now start working on something completely different, new, and I am looking very forward to liberating me in that way.”
The album that encompasses material from the last four years as well as special edits of the biggest releases: the huge mega hit “I Begin To Wonder” which charted all over Europe in 2003 and saw a highly successful remake with Dannii Minogue on the mike which is now tweaked into a new “2008 Mix” which creates a huge hype as we speak, “Someday”, “Fly Away”, “Slap That Bitch (the latter produced with German house star Tom Novy), plus eight other brand new tracks, powerfully chanted by ex-Snap vocalist and Madonna background singer Niki Harris, and Tara Mc Donald, Armand van Helden’s top vocalist who also stars in the new David Guetta single.
Re-introducing exotic vibes to the floor, Finally! stuns with its housey versatility and its eclectic vibes. Amongst the tracks: “African Voices” and “Shingaling“, which was written by Louie Ramirez in the 60s, and then recorded by Kako And His Orchestra. One of the greatest Cuban moments in time, it was rediscovered by JCA who recorded the cover version eight years ago to resurrect the masterpiece in Spring 2008. Just in time -- it became a huuuge hit and got licensed in all territories.
The biggest challenge for Jean Claude: To make this musical journey a homogenous, streamlined trip as almost all tracks are overflowing with vocals. “I had this idea to deliver the album in a continuous, progressive mix that would take the listener onto another level reflecting the vibes that I also transmit as a DJ.” He succeeded.
Full-on and uncut, Finally! is a huge triumph! A colourful retrospective full of party spirit, a light-hearted moment of happiness. Fifteen years of house music and club dancing and a huge musical background: all artfully fused into a huge debut that will certainly catapult the enormously talented, self-taught musician Jean Claude Ades into the limelight -- once again. Finally!
