Eigenart are back on Kju with their third longplayer “Artefakt”. Claus Pieper and Werner Balzuweit explored their passion for electronic music in its very early days – the 80ies. But while Claus Pieper kept on working with electronic instruments Werner Balzuweit layed his focus in life on IT. In 2003 the reunion took place and Eigenart was founded. In the meantime Claus Pieper had an extraordinary carrer as a musician. With his projects Genlog he characterized the rave sound of the 90ies beside artists like Westbam, Marusha, Tanith and other. With his projects Kimri, The Bleachers or Atropin Projects he sounded out different genres like Downbeat, BigBeat, Techno and House.

With their two albums “Cityhopper” (ZYX 2006) and “Malia” (Kju/Daredo 2007) they proved affinity and knowledge of the smoother structures and textures of electronic music and achieved a good reputation in the scene very fast.

For their third longplayer “Artefakt” Pieper and Balzuweit got Lars Holzapfel aka Woo-Dee on board who will enhance the sound and the character from know on.

The sound of “Artefakt” is mystic and disclosing at the same by mixing the senses. Every sense seems to be compatible to all the others. The result is an artefact, a work of art, a creation of perception floating between downbeat, ambient, lounge and deep house. A flush of detections, unaggressive and colorful, bright and extensive.
