The in Berlin born and Augsburg based DJ and producer Daniel Bortz is one of the most promising newcomer in electronic dance music. Spinning records since 1994 he established his own event-series FORZAelectroniCA in his hometown Augsburg. But Daniel proved his skills outside Augsburg also. He played in the clubs of Berlin, Munich, Chemnitz or Braunschweig. With his three releases on Pastamusik and the release on &nd he allowed his audience to get a first view of what is coming next. And here he is. “And The Loop...Goes On”: On the A Daniel convinces with a very loop-oriented and tribal-infected killer tune in which everything is about the build-up. While using no melodies, only linear elements like disco strings, disco bassline and funky guitar chords and vocals, he beams an original 70ies disco atmosphere into the present. It is reduced, but finally it remains disco. “And The Loop...Continues”: A bit more breezy and dreamy the B1 track comes around. With washed out percussions and monotonic chords he starts spitting fire when the break takes place. Here he conjures with a second bassline and the chords are spreading out before the track returns to its basics. But the most magical element is the flute sample that creates an atmosphere placed in big fantasy stories..“And The Loop...Don't Stop”: Calming down one step further the magical flute won't give up that fast. More dry than the arrangement of the previous track, Daniel, whose track “Südwind” appeared on the “Munich Disco Tech Vol. 2” compiltaion on Great Stuff, gives the b-side its own theme and convinces with subtile melodic elements and strong chord work again.
