In 1998 Boozoo Bajou released their first single on Stereo Deluxe. “Night over Manaus” (sd018) It was an instant smash. “Under my sensi”(sd038 & sd039) followed soon after and was so good we had to do it twice. The first time round featured a Les Demon Flowers mix from the Uptight camp and was followed immediately with a Thievery Corporation and Trio Elétrico mix. Whilst on a tour with the Stereo Deluxe DJ team Deluca & Majbour (Oli Rösch ? & Sammy Majbour) in 2000 The Funky Lowlives heard “Divers” on the “Lead with the Bass” 12” EP (sd045) and promptly remixed them. “Divers” was released later in 2000 featuring two Funkies Immersion remixes. Boozoo Bajou had also earned a lot of big repect and proved they could return the remix favour by being invited to remix “A go go” for The Trüby Trio (Compost) and also Toscas “Chocolate Elvis”.(G-Stone)
After the release of Boozoo Bajous debut album in 2001 “Satta” (sd069) further collaborations ensued. Tony Allen vs Boozoo Bajou for the Boozoo track “Yoruba Road”. Boozoo Bajou also returned the Funky Lowlives favour and remixed “Bellaluna” (Stereo Deluxe)….(the original having been released on G-Stone).
“Camioux” (sd085) was releasedd in the late Autumn of 2002 and was to feture a Glyn Bush remix aka Bigga Bush (lightning head – ex rockers hifi) and a very special Deep Blues vocal version featuring Wayne Martin. Boozoo Bajou also worked for Mousse T and reworked “Gourmet de funk” (peppermint Jam) and recently Common “come close” (Universal) feat. Mary J Blige.
