Mannheim’s Circle Music returns with a superb new single from label boss Alex Flatner featuring remixes from Deepgroove, Martínek & Warren Fellow…

The Circle Music imprint has been releasing quality tech fuelled house music for the last seven years and has a catalogue that includes music from the likes of Gui Boratto, Michel de Hey, Umek & Sebastien Leger. At the heart of the labels success has been the guidance and music of label boss Alex Flatner, who has provided some of the label’s key releases and been responsible for signing it’s amazing roster of acts. In
addition to his sterling work with Circle, Flatner has also recorded for key labels such as Cocoon and Pokerflat and travelled the globe as a DJ. And if that was not enough he holds a central role in Germany’s electronic music industry, label managing for leading imprints such as Harthouse and Plastic City.

For his latest musical outing Alex Flatner offers up the wonderful ‘Break the House’, a bass driven house cut inspired by the Commodores classic ‘Brick House’. Beautifully sparse drum programming, an acidic b-line and vocal samples create the atmospheric soundbed for the haunting yet catchy string melody and off kilter keys, quality stuff.

The first of the remixes comes from Underwater artist Deepgroove who take ‘Break the House’ and twist it into a dubby and eccentric reworking that has a raw live feel to it. Chopped breakbeats and syncopated bass stabs play off against the percussion and vocal edits to create an energetic and unique track.

The penultimate track sees Martínek take the reigns and turn in an epic stripped and rolling remix that dispenses with much of the melody opting for a percussive workout that is certain to get the floor moving.

Finally we have a remix from Holland’s Warren Fellow who journeys into deep techy territory with a pulsating mix that sits round a wonderfully hypnotic groove, simply arranged but highly effective this is a perfect final piece to the puzzle.

Circle Music have quite a reputation to maintain and this latest release from Alex Flatner is certain to further build on the respect that this imprint commands.
