While talking to John Selway over the phone about his album, Edge of Now, it becomes apparent one is speaking to someone very grounded and aware of what his purpose in life is. He laughs occasionally, reaffirming my belief that John Selway is a man who loves what he does for a living —making exceptional music.
Selway’s diversity is one trait that helped him build such an impressive resume. He has worked in studio with such industry greats as Carl Cox, Deep Dish, and BT. His tracks and remixes have appeared on labels as diverse as Ultra Records, Plus 8, Tribal UK, Tension, and Hooj Choons. Selway is also co-owner of Serotonin Records, a label he created in 1995 with computer genius Jason Szostek. Additionally, he runs his own CSM imprint, as well as sharing A&R duties with Abe Duque for Rapture Records. Many of Selway’s tracks are considered classics by insiders and are played by internationally acclaimed DJs like Jeff Mills, Sven Vath and Sasha. Audiences love him too, packing the dance floor for his pulsing, beat-driven sets. All of these influences are reflected in Selway’s first full-length album, Edge of Now, one of the most anticipated albums of the year.
