Fergie (aka Robert Ferguson), a DJ of international standing for the past decade, has never had a stronger and more vibrant aural identity.
Playing the kind of music he wants, determined not to be held back by perceptions and tags from the past, he continues to be a global representative for electronic music by consistently breaking down underground barriers and bringing new music to the people, without compromise.
Dynamite & Lasterbeams is Fergieâ s long overdue & much anticipated studio album, in the making for the past 2 years with production partner
Dave Robertson, the CD features plenty of the big room trademark techno sounds that Fergie has become renowned for alongside some equally stunning downtempo work.
The title of the album refers to Fergie's youth in Northern Ireland, a period defined as much by early raves as it was by the constant threat of
violence. "Growing up in Northern Ireland through the troubles I saw how two communities were kept apart," he says. "That made it all the more amazing that despite the threat of bombs young people from both sides came together to get lost in the music at the raves."
