Carl Cox releases his debut Global Underground mix album, ‘Black Rock Desert,’ on 1st Feb 2010. Taken from a storming 2 hour set in The Opulent Temple in the Black Rock Desert, Summer 2009. “When I decided to do a Global Underground mix it just had to be here ,” says Carl. Everything aside from the entrance fee is free. It’s all about sharing and contributing to the experience. People barter, offering everything from free artwork installations to free flirting lessons and drinks. “There’s loads of people out there who have no idea. It’s been going on for 20 years. And I do think there are like-minded people who would like to share my experience. It justifies the release for GU. Eigenart are back on Kju with their third longplayer “Artefakt”. Claus Pieper and Werner Balzuweit explored their passion for electronic music in its very early days – the 80ies. But while Claus Pieper kept on working with electronic instruments Werner Balzuweit layed his focus in life on IT. In 2003 the reunion took place and Eigenart was founded. After a seven-year absence from the recording front, Kid Loco is finally back in the spotlight with a new album. Party Animals & Disco Biscuits does not mark a radical departure from Kid’s habitual sound. But this album is significant for being the first time that the French mixmaster has stepped behind the mike to sing on all tracks – in English! On his latest offering, Kid serves up a compelling mix of psychedelia and electro beats that he dubs “psychedelectro”.

Bullet In The Head is the 4th album so far from Toktok and the 27th release of the Berlin Techno Duo. The tracks are as many as they are diverse in style: 18 pieces from straight up Techno to Heavy Breakbeats, from Polka and House to Detroit, Chicago, Industrial and HipHop they cover a wide range of musical varieties that still have one thing in common: Toktoks very own style. The 20th Century splashed slowly and gently towards the Millennium. But it was a year for a new music trend: The final neon glow and the green laser effects in dry ice fog in the 80ies were warped. The electronic music drew from the techno temples into cozy living rooms, quiet bars and comfortable lounges. On August 15th 1977, Elvis collapsed at his home and never regained consciousness. It was – literally, many say – the death of rock and roll. Two weeks later, many thousands of kilometres from Memphis, Bruno Schmitt– alias Zorg - was born. Simple coincidence you might say. And you'd be right. Nevertheless, music was never the same again, and many years later, Zorg was to play his part. The real revolution starts when Zorg hits 17. Warmest thanks got to his best friend Alex whose love of electronic music was soon to rub off on Zorg, big time.
