People barter, offering everything from free artwork installations to free flirting lessons and drinks. “There’s loads of people out there who have no idea. It’s been going on for 20 years. And I do think there are like-minded people who would like to share my experience. It justifies the release for GU. I hope people see it as genuine.”

In the meantime Claus Pieper had an extraordinary carrer as a musician. With his projects Genlog he characterized the rave sound of the 90ies beside artists like Westbam, Marusha, Tanith and other. With his projects Kimri, The Bleachers or Atropin Projects he sounded out different genres like Downbeat, BigBeat, Techno and House.
With their two albums “Cityhopper” (ZYX 2006) and “Malia” (Kju/Daredo 2007) they proved affinity and knowledge of the smoother structures and textures of electronic music and achieved a good reputation in the...[ read on ]

Party Animals & Disco Biscuits does not mark a radical departure from Kid’s habitual sound. But this album is significant for being the first time that the French mixmaster has stepped behind the mike to sing on all tracks – in English! On his latest offering, Kid serves up a compelling mix of psychedelia and electro beats that he dubs “psychedelectro”.

14bc | Artist: | James Holden | | Title: | The Idiots Are Winning | | Label: | border community | | Format: | CD |
 | | Genre: | Tech-House | | Releasedate: | 2006-11-24 | | Price: | 15.95 € (approx. 21.85 $) | Having recorded trance crossover hits while still in his teens (1999's 'Horizons' recently made it into Mixmag's top 100 dance records of all time), and then gone on to remix Madonna and Britney Spears, it would be unreasonable to expect classically-trained Oxford University maths graduate James Holden to produce a debut album of exquisite techno. But that's exactly what he has come up with.
From the deliciously woozy synth spirals of hypnotic six-minute opener 'Lump' to the subtly metronomic finale of 'Quiet Drumming', The Idiots Are Winning is the most invigoratingly coherent blast of pure electronic sound since the Boards of Canada last remembered to set their alarm clock. And with Orbital now just a happy memory, and Underworld forsaking the hurly-burly of the midnight train to Romford to write film soundtracks about Primrose Hill, it's great to have a bit of new blood around to...[ read on ]

molex016-4 | Artist: | Various Artists | | Title: | Mole Listening Pearls - The Collection Vol. 1 (1996 - 2000) | | Label: | Mole Listening Pearls | | Format: | mp3 / album |
 | | Genre: | Electronica | | Releasedate: | 2010-01-29 | | Price: | 11.99 € (approx. 16.43 $) | 1996 wasn´t an outstanding year in its historical dimensions. Comet Hyakutake was discovered, and the Nintendo 64 came on the market. The 20th Century splashed slowly and gently towards the Millennium. But it was a year for a new music trend: The final neon glow and the green laser effects in dry ice fog in the 80ies were warped. The electronic music drew from the techno temples into cozy living rooms, quiet bars and comfortable lounges. A new generation has grown up and got the label Mole Listening Pearls, a new sense of life tailored to the body. In the beginning it was just an experiment: An open production with an uncertain outcome. The "Mole sound" soaked in his great sensitivity and sensuality. For the first time Mole Listening Pearls brings together a retrospective in three parts, first, the beginning of 1996 - 2000, the development of the Sound by 2001 - 2005, and...[ read on ]

 | | Genre: | Tech-House | | Releasedate: | 2010-02-03 | | Price: | 7.25 € (approx. 9.93 $) | Chris Carrier, one of the most respected names of the french underground house scene for more than 10 years, delivers his debut ep for OFF Recordings. La Fabourienne is the kind of peaktime tracks that you know and love OFF for, jacking grooves, a strong bassline and an infectious saxophone theme will turn your dancefloor upside down – guaranteed! Jeudi is a completely different affair – a laidback sparse groove, garnered with 100% self-played live instruments and percussions show Carrier’s deeper side, making this outstanding piece of music the deepest and most musical track released on OFF so far. William Kouam Djoko, one of biggest fresh talents of Amsterdams ever-growing house scene, delivers a unique interpretation of Jeudi for his friend and house-hero Mr. Carrier; straightening the deep original into a twisted techno-jazz-experience for the feet and the heart in two...[ read on ]

mole054-2 | Artist: | Zorg | | Title: | la vie privée de Zorg | | Label: | Mole Listening Pearls | | Format: | 2CD |
 | | Genre: | Listening / Lounge | | Releasedate: | 2004-04-01 | | Price: | 16.95 € (approx. 23.22 $) | On August 15th 1977, Elvis collapsed at his home and never regained consciousness. It was – literally, many say – the death of rock and roll. Two weeks later, many thousands of kilometres from Memphis, Bruno Schmitt– alias Zorg - was born. Simple coincidence you might say. And you'd be right. Nevertheless, music was never the same again, and many years later, Zorg was to play his part. The real revolution starts when Zorg hits 17. Warmest thanks got to his best friend Alex whose love of electronic music was soon to rub off on Zorg, big time. Listening to "The Milky Way", an early track on F Com, and trance 12"s from Eye Q, Zorg and Alex decided they they'd quite like to try their hand at that too. Pooling the little money they had, they bought a sampler and a Groovebox and started frenetic knob-twiddling that was more exploration than creation.
And so it continued for a couple of...[ read on ]
